Swipe sideways to see every rod — or turn your phone sideways.
Start with 3 or 5 rods. Add more for bigger numbers — up to 17.
Lower beads move up to the bar; the upper bead moves down to it. Tap again to move it back.
Count only beads touching the bar — upper bead 5, each lower bead 1. The ones rod is on the far right.
Tap Reset Abacus to clear every bead at once, then try the next number.
💡 Try it: show 27. On the tens rod, push 2 lower beads up. On the ones rod, bring the upper bead down and push 2 lower beads up.

A soroban — the abacus Kidosia teaches with. Each rod has one upper bead worth 5 and four lower beads worth 1.
Beginners do best with 3 or 5 rods. Each rod holds one digit, so use more rods for bigger numbers — 17 rods can show a 17-digit number.
